about the piece When Seth told me he was looking for a noir-inspired work, I researched the subject. After reading about the many tropes for the genre, i realized could not pick one - so I wrote about several of my favorites. scenes from dark alleyways pick on several recurring ideas from the film noir genre such as pessimism, dark jazz, and haunting storylines. this piece tells the story of a city hiding a mysterious serial killer, and a detective investigating their murders.
