about the piece A few months ago, I wrote a work based on the friendships I made at ISU titled “Melanie’s Truth”. The piece took on a brighter and more melancholic mood. This piece is a response to that work, emphasizing a darker tone. Commissioned by and for Nick Filano who is preparing to graduate soon, “Anything but Normal” represents continuing an adventure into the frightening unknown and our curiosity about the future.
